In fact, I'd go so far as to say it was worse than the acting in Mad Dog McCree (the live action arcade lightgun game) which most of us gave up playing nearly 20 years ago... Oh, and you could almost hear the crew patting themselves on the back for naming the chief scientist 'Dr Carmack', before having him killed at the very start of the film. How very clever of them.
